- Saturday 8th: The Opening Ceremony. Welcoming family for a visit, hosting duties in full swing, and setting the stage for a busy week ahead.
- Sunday 9th: Garden Centre Mazes… Navigating the endless labyrinth of garden centre aisles, avoiding impulse plant purchases, and keeping Mum entertained.
- Monday 10th: Stonehenge Architects and the ‘Pink Book’ Escape. Dodging the notorious A303 traffic, speculating on prehistoric site planning, and escaping back home to decipher domestic instructions from the mysterious ‘Pink Book’.
- Tuesday 11th: Table Tennis, Mindset, and Surviving Heatwave 4.0 Swapping between Village Hall Chairman, Table Tennis Coach for a single rising star, and Mindset Coach—all while the humidity began to bake Wiltshire.
- Wednesday 12th: Table Tennis Dizziness and the Great Eclipse Anticlimax. Battling a mysterious bout of light-headedness at the table tennis table, receiving dubious medical diagnoses from friends, and watching a heavily hyped solar eclipse that was marginally less exciting than watching paint dry.
- Thursday 13th: Password Rabbit Holes, Barber Capes, and Heatwave 4.0. Disappearing down a 3:00 AM tech rabbit hole, talking myself out of deleting my password manager, and surviving a haircut trapped under a plastic cape in peak 37-degree heat.
- Friday 14th: Upavon Village Hall, Dump Runs, and Four Showers. A productive sweep of Upavon Village Hall odd jobs, an unmonitored final trip to the recycling centre, and surviving the Friday humidity by spending half the day standing under running water.
Quote of the Week
“Listening to the media, you’d think a solar eclipse was a triumphant feat of human engineering. It’s basic astrophysics. It happens on a completely predictable schedule, and it’s entirely inevitable.”
What’s Next?
With Heatwave 4.0 finally breaking, the coming week promises slightly cooler weather, fewer trips to the dump, and hopefully a password manager that actually saves passwords.
Thank you for reading along! If you missed any of these entries during the week, you can catch up on the full posts over on the blog.
Have a fantastic week ahead,
