“Stir the pot if you want results” was the phrase ringing in my head when I rang an independent caravan trader this morning. I was determined to get a fairer price than the insulting figure offered by the dealership where we originally bought it—who, quite frankly, were taking the absolute mick by offering half of what we paid just three months ago.
The trader agreed to come over and inspect it tomorrow.
However, my pot-stirring paid off much sooner than expected. Within twenty minutes of that call, a local buyer rang, rushed straight over with his wife, and, after a brief look around, offered to buy it on the spot. Result. The caravan gets a good home, we recover a proper chunk of our renovation budget, and the buyers walked away utterly thrilled.
Not to be outdone, Karen decided to stir the “moving back in” pot. We ventured into the garage to confront the mountain of boxes that had been frantically thrown in there when our builder, Graham, announced he was starting the project early. We now have the delightful task of sifting through years of accumulated paraphernalia as we clear it out. I’m just grateful Karen actually enjoys that sort of forensic sorting.
As for me? I made my excuses, slipped back into the house, and went to stir the pot for dinner.
