Two gym days in a row! I was back with a vengeance, eager to make up for my forced two-week hiatus from exercise.

The early workout was particularly welcome, as I’d earmarked the rest of the morning for transferring everything from my dying iPhone over to the new Samsung. Based on past experience, these technical migrations rarely go without a hitch, regardless of all the clever wizardry built in nowadays to make them supposedly seamless.

By lunchtime, most of the digital heavy lifting was complete—with the notable exception of one stubborn app: WhatsApp. Apparently, its security is so paranoid that at the slightest hint of a transfer hiccup, it completely locks down data migration to a new device. Rather than risk getting locked out entirely, I called a temporary truce and took the dogs out for a walk.

“Many of the world’s greatest problems have been sorted while walking dogs.” (Mark Laker).

Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of them. My AI buddy suggested stepping away from the app for 24 hours to let the servers reset their temper tantrum. Since I wasn’t quite prepared to go on a 24-hour dog walk, I gave up and went to prepare tea instead.

On the domestic front, Graham fixed the front door this morning—meaning we can once again lock and unlock our own house from the inside—and knocked off a few minor snags in the kitchen.

With the damaged kitchen door fronts due for replacement on Thursday and the cooker hood electrics scheduled for Friday, this week is rapidly turning into National Snagging Week.
