I was absolutely certain the cold was packing its bags yesterday. Today, it decided to launch a counter-offensive. Fortunately, I was prepared. Armed to the teeth with tissues, paracetamol, fluids, and every over-the-counter remedy known to modern science, we braved the outside world and went garden furniture shopping.
My AI collaborator had pointed us towards a specific showroom, and the advice was spot on. After a rigorous testing process that involved sitting, slumping, and testing the lounging potential of every single seat in the place, we made our choices and made our escape—hopefully without leaving a trail of biological warfare behind us.
By 5:00 PM, however, the adrenaline wore off. My white flag went up, and I retreated to bed. The cold won today’s battle for control over my body, hands down.
But while the internal war was a struggle, we were winning major victories on other fronts. The kitchen worktops were officially fitted today, and Ash made brilliant progress painting the hall.
A day of physical surrender, but a win for the house. All is not lost.
