Daily writing prompt
Tell us about your first day at something — school, work, as a parent, etc.

I remember the day I decided to start blogging… The next day was equally memorable. Has anyone read the post? Did I offend anyone? Did I make glaring mistakes or miss any typos…

Like a lot of bloggers, I’d been mulling over the idea of starting a blog for a while. Taking the first steps was daunting. I’m sure my hands were shaking and I was breaking into a sweat when I hit ‘publish’.

I didn’t have strong messages or focused views to put across, I just enjoyed writing.

Letters turn into words. Words turn into sentences. Thoughts and ideas develop and flow as the letters spread across the page. That was and still is my fascination with writing.

If anyone read my words, it would be fine. Maybe my words would make them smile. That would be great. Or my words stimulate a response. That would be scary. The real reason for blogging was my excuse to write.

My first day blogging – and it probably did take a day to write that first post was memorable. Ever since I’ve had confidence to blog more, record podcasts and generally write more.
