I get a lot of pleasure from writing. Letting the words flow from my mind on to the paper / screen, and from the download of thoughts, concerns, ideas, observations and the million other things that go on inside my head all make writing so enjoyable for me.

I write a daily journal capturing highlights, achievements and lessons leant from each day, and a summary of what I’ve done.

I write a daily gratitude journal. Well, I call it a journal, in reality, it’s a log, a couple of paragraphs. I find it impactful when I keep it concise.

I take notes throughout the day of things I need to do, things that crop up and other random stuff.

I write a blog. As regular readers will know this is also random and depends on my moods and what catches my attention.

And when I have a lot of stuff on my mind, I do expressive writing; a download without any thought about grammar, spelling, sentence structure etc., just write and get it out – a bit like blood-letting!

Writing is good for my mental health by organising my thoughts. Writing stops me over-thinking. Writing enables me to express myself to whoever cares to read the output. In a way it doesn’t matter if my writings are ever read, its the act of writing that gives me enjoyment and peace of mind.

Does anyone else write like this or are you more organised and structured?
