Daily writing prompt
When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Does anyone remember what they were thinking when they were five?

I don’t remember specifics, however there are certain points in my childhood I vaguely recall; some nice, some I’d prefer that I didn’t remember.

Cars, tractors and machinery fascinated me as a youngster and that has remained a keen interest throughout my life. The engineer in me likes figuring out problems and I appreciate the beauty, design and ingenuity of engineering powering today’s modern transport.

As a teenager I had a Saturday job in a local garage helping out with various jobs. I followed my interest in machinery after finishing school working on farms and then into engineering.

One early memory I recall was to be part of a motor racing team. Today I enjoy following F1 and other motor sports. Maybe that childhood dream has stayed with me.
