My most influential teacher was my great friend Jean.
I lodged with Jean and her family when I left school and started working on a farm, initially as a summer job.
Jean taught me good, solid work ethics; the value of being part of a loving family; how to take a positive view of the world, despite all it’s problems; how to appreciate and value the things I have, and mostly, how to relax and enjoy myself.
In later years, Jean helped my children develop into the wonderful people they are today by listening to them and gently guiding them in the direction they wanted to go. She had a skill of coaching and helping people without them even realising it.
