What is your middle name? Does it carry any special meaning/significance?
Hmmm, an interesting prompt this morning, I wonder who thinks these up…
My middle name is David, the same as my fathers name. I believe this follows a British, maybe a Christian tradition, – although I’m not sure – that the eldest son takes his Fathers name as his middle name.
My parent’s were Christians so maybe they thought they would get two for the price of one, Dad’s name and a Christian name in one neat package – everyone’s happy!
How names are carried down through families fascinates me. My wife has Orcadian roots where names have significance and indicates origin and even location of where people were born.
BTW – my eldest son has my middle name, not my first name. Confused? I am….
