I’ve been on holiday, hence the reason for the lack of posts over the last few weeks. Actually, I’ve been on an adventure taking in Japan, Sydney, The Sunshine Coast in Australia and Melbourne. Along the way I’ve explored places I’ve always wanted to visit, met new friends, spent quality time with family and had time to reflect, write, read and rest before the next phase of my life begins in April (more about that in a future blog).

My son and his wife have a routine they call ‘peak & pits’ i.e the highlights and the lowlights. There have been many, many peaks on this adventure and very few pits.

The biggest peak has been having my eyes and mind opened even more to our amazing world, the people and their cultures; the fascinating wildlife, nature and ecosystems we live in, and what incredible achievements human have created, and the affect we’re having on the planet.

My last big trip was in 2022, we had just made another significant change in our life and Covid and lockdowns were still very much in our minds. I realise that since then home-working and living in a quiet Wiltshire village has resulted in me doing less socialising in the wider world.

One of the benefits I used to find about travelling was having time to reflect on recent events, observe life, meet different people, see different nature and take in what’s around me. There’s something about being out of my usual environment that gets these juices flowing and I’ve enjoyed experiencing that again over the last few weeks.

So, my notebook is full of blog topics that I’d like to share with you in coming weeks.
