My annual goal setting process…sometimes ordeal! starts around October / November and takes me a couple of months.
Why does it take this long? I like to review the goals I set for the current year to see what I have achieved so far, see what goals I dropped – or I got bored with – and refresh my memory of any long, long term goals (5+ years ahead) that I should consider in terms of am I getting closer to achieving them.
I then think about what I’d like to do the following year and then just start writing; just write anything that comes to mind mildly related to something I want to achieve next year. And this is where I run into problems…
I don’t have any problems to think about what I’d like to achieve, try out, explore, visit or any activities, lets face it, there’s so much in the world to see and do. No, the problem I have, which should be a simple one to solve, relates back to an earlier post, I keep swapping and changing apps, software and writing tools so I lose my way and get distracted, so by the time the New Year comes all my ideas are scattered all over the digital world
So that’s one of this year’s goals sorted then…
Stick with one writing app and don’t get distracted.
That’ll work won’t it?
