In my last post I touched on my interest of sports psychology (SP) and the events that created my never-ending journey of self-development and improvement.
It was after a disastrous performance in a Dog Agility competition that I realised no matter how much my dog and I practiced if my head wasn’t in the right place on the day; more importantly on the start line, I wasn’t going to perform at my best. Whilst reflecting on my poor performance I asked myself
What do world class atheletes do to get their heads in the best place to perform?
… And so my journey started.

Fast forwards many years of study, research, work with sport psychologists and practice, and now SP techniques are engrained in my head and used to coach others and applied to myself.
Once I started discovering this world of using your head to play the sport, the depth of the subject opened up and became apparant that there was a massive part of competing that I had totally overlooked.
The next phase of this journey has started with me applying SP to my table tennis.
