I’ve realised that my monitoring of this year’s goals have gotten into a mess for the following reasons:

  1. Once again, I’ve swapped and changed apps and software throughout the year which has caused me to lose track of where I’ve stored information.
  2. I haven’t had a reoccurring monthly reminder to update my goals – now sorted – and probably relates to my first point, I’ve swapped reminder apps more times than I can remember during the year…there’s a lesson to be learnt there…
  3. I got distracted by new goal setting methods which offer amazing new systems that will somehow magically enable me to achieve all my goals…

So, one of my top priority goals in 2025 will be to develop a workflow that I enjoy and will stick to. The annoying part is that I know this stuff, in fact I coach and help others with performance, monitoring results, setting targets etc., I just need to apply these skills to myself.

Who coaches the coach….

Not to be too hard on myself, I have discovered that the more I learn about goal setting the more confusing the subject gets and I procastinate: there are so many different systems and methods on this topic – I could probably dedicate a separate blog to this subject alone…that’s an idea….

My book shelf is full of self-help books offering unique and fresh ideas that will ‘help and improve’ me; the best help would be to find a way of sticking with what I know and get off this quest to continually improve. Maybe that’s another idea, I could write a book called

‘The benefits of NOT improving yourself, but being happy with what you already have’.

It would need a more snappy title though…
